Membership and Constitution

MEMBERSHIP

All members of Panshanger Anglers are provided with a membership card, rule book, access to the estate via the gate at the park entrance and a car park permit.

Fishing resources are finite and membership is necessarily limited but anyone can join. We often have vacancies at the start of each season in March and we operate a waiting list.  Anyone wishing to join should use the form on our Contact page or send an email to enquiries@panshanger-anglers.co.uk with "fishing enquiry" in the subject line.

CONSTITUTION

Panshanger Anglers is administered by a committee made up of the Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and Fishery Manager.

The Panshanger Anglers AGM is normally held in February each year with an interim meeting taking place in November.  Currently held at Benington Village Hall near Stevenage, these get togethers are a mixture of serious debate and social banter and provide the opportunity to keep members up to date as well as exchange views. At the AGM constitutional matters are discussed, membership fees are set and membership rules forged.

Members are kept abreast of syndicate matters with an occasional newsletter.

FISHERY MANAGEMENT

Our fishery is a dynamic environment and requires regular attention in the form of bank clearing and general upkeep. Work parties are organised from time to time and in so doing we work in concert with the Hertfordshire and Middlesex Wildlife Trust which has overall responsibility for the preservation of the ecology of the park.  Our fishery manager and his assistant spend a great deal of time organising stocking and work parties and all members are encouraged to take part in maintaining our fishery.
